Mona Shores has adopted the use of classroom blogs as a tool for communication, continued instruction and celebration.
Communication
As parents, students and members of the community, you can stay informed on homework assignments, upcoming events, due dates, study trips, and more. Secondary teachers can post their class syllabus so expectations are available throughout the year. An introduction about the teacher is available. Some teachers may also utilize the comment/discussion option.
Continued Instruction
State guidelines require a great deal of content to be taught within a short period of time. Teachers may utilize the blog to share additional information about a topic that would not normally be discussed due to time constraints, or use the blog to review a classroom discussion.
Celebration
To celebrate the positive experiences of students, teachers may highlight work done by students or by the entire class.
To access a teacher’s blog, open the district web site (www.monashores.net), click on Staff Directory, select the building, then click on the teacher’s name. Another option is to type http://blogs.monashores.net/ followed by teacher’s last name and first initial (i.e. jonest).
