Scrimmage Week

Hello Mona Shores Football family and supporters.  Week 1 was very busy with 10 practices, pictures, Blue/White scrimmages, and the kick off tailgate.  They was some hitting going on Saturday in both scrimmages and some great things to build upon.

Plus we started a check awards fundraiser.  All players are asked to participate by selling 6 check books for $20 each.  Each player the sells 6 gets a check book free and gets their name in a drawing.  All proceeds go to the Mona Shores Football Booster Club and are spent back on program & players needs.  Deadline is Friday the 20th.

Thank you to everyone that participated in the cookout on Saturday.  It was a great time to sit, eat and talk to a lot of you.  A very special thank you to the booster club volunteers that pulled the whole thing together.  You areawesome and  very much appreciated!!

This week’s schedule is on the calendar and has just 1 minor change for the JV on Wednesday.   Here is the schedule for the week of 8-16 Monday-Friday:

2010 Football Season is Here

What a great start to the week.  4 practices are done and 1 more day before we strap up the pads.   A couple of key reminders, the locker room opens at 7am daily.  Players need to be on the field at 7:45 sharp.  Practice will end at 1pm if we are not delayed by weather or inability to focus.

We have a couple things going home to the parents today and tomorrow:

1) BWW’s Flyer ~ If you present that flyer anytime tomorrow at BWW’s, 20% of your bill will go back to the football booster club.  A great reason to eat some wings!!

2) Picture Form ~ Pictures will be Saturday morning!! THAT IS A CHANGE TO THE CALENDAR.  8 am for 9th and JV, 8:30am for Varsity

3) Kick off Taigate information ~ The Tailgate will follow the Varsity BLUE/WHITE Scrimmage which ends at 1pm.  9th and JV scrimmage will get under way about 10am on the gamefield and the varsity practice/scrimmage will begin at 11am.

Encourage your player to eat right, drink lots of fluids (no pop), stretch, and gets lots of sleep.  If they have any injuries, they must see our certified athletic trainer Heather Harrison to ensure a speedy recovery.  Please send them to Heather 1st.

Come out to the scrimmages on Saturday and stay for the Kickoff Tailgate.  What a great way to Kick off the season.

Thanks for your support,

Coach Ken Rose
