Mona Shores 1-0 in OK Black Conference

The varsity football team came away from the field last Friday with its 1st victory of the season.  It was a good 1 because it came at the expense of the Holland Dutch, a team that has beat the Sailors 2 years in a row in game that have come down to the wire.

Friday’s victory puts the Sailors in a tie for 1st place in the league with an opportunity to add a victory against Grand Rapids Union.  This week’s game will be on Saturday at Houseman Field in GR with a kickoff time schedule for 1pm.

The players will arrive at school Saturday morning at 9:15am for a team meal and will board the busses around 10:30 to set sail to Houseman Field.  Directions to the field are available in the student agenda books and online at the Athletic Department webpage.  I believe construction might be an issue on connections in downtown GR, so keep that in mind when making travel plans.

Please come out and support your sailors and cheer them on to another confernce victory.  GO SHORES!
