Reading
Reading is an important life skill that needs to be practied and maintained. Good readers comprehend and retain texts because they actively engage as they read. They have learned to use a range of strategies to adjust to differing texts, and in doing so, they read and understand what is directly stated in the text, what is implied by the text, and how the text applies to their lives and the world.
The Mona Shores High School English Department encourages students to read regularly. Just like any other skill, reading skills become rusty if not used for a period of time.
The various section under this main page will include a section on Reading Strategies, Suggested Outside Reading by Grade Level, and Required Reading for the Honors and AP program.
These sections will be available by the end of August 2010.
