Mr. Burgam (our videographer) has agreed that if people want their Singing Tree DVD’s (we usually distribute them in class on the last day of school but since we had a snow day on Friday wc aren’t able to do so) you can:

UPDATE: Radium Photography was to complete the pictures by today (Monday) at 5:30pm. Mr. Burgam was going to pick these pictures up and be ready to distribute them shortly after that time. So, if you wanted your picture before we get back to school, follow the directions above regarding contacting Mr. Burgam.

Further, as I stated in class, you could write in that you wanted a compact disc (CD) but that these would not be ready until, most likely, sometime in January.

At this moment, I am not sure what will happen with the Singing Tree pictures. It all depends upon if they are ready from Radium, who will pick them up and who will distribute them, which all remains to be seen. REMINDER!! The Muskegon Chamber Choir is giving a holiday concert this Saturday, Dec. 20th at Mr. D’Oyly’s Church (First Presbyterian in Grand Haven) at 7:30pm. The doors open for seating beginning at 7:10pm.

It seems that during every student tour, the adult staff ponder the idea of traveling without the responsibility of chaperoning the students and doing all the work involved with performing. Just a relaxing time among friends!!

We are now making this dream a reality with a trip to South Africa from June 16-28, 2010. We will be visiting cities such as Johannesburg (and the Kruger National Park-Safari style!), Port Elizabeth on South Africa’s South-Eastern Coast (with a day spent at the Addo Elephant National Park, home to over 200 Elephants!), ride ostriches, travel the Garden Route to Oudtshoorn, visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Caves and visit Capetown (with a penguin refuge!).

Anyone 18 years or older and that has graduated by June of 2010 is invited. This includes past Shores Choir Trip staff, students and friends of the choir!

THIS WEEKEND!! An opportunity for extra credit takes place this Friday and Saturday, at 8:00pm and also Saturday at 3pm-4pm ($1 per ticket sold will go to back to Mona Shores High School) is a holiday concert put on by the West Shore Symphony Orchestra, with the North Muskegon High School Choir.

They will be joined by guest artist Giles Chiasson, a former Mona Shores Choir Member who has been performing musical theater on Broadway as well as writing music and cutting CD’s!

There are forms on the table in front of the smart cart that you can pick up, fill out and turn in so our school can recieve the $1 back. You must turn this form in at the box office for the school to be able to receive the dollar. You can only use these forms at the matinee performance.

REMINDER!! Looking for extra credit (+5 points and no review needed!)? Attend the middle school choir’s holiday concert Tuesday night here in our High School Auditorium at 7:30pm. FREE! You must get your program signed by me AFTER the production, add your name to the program, and turn it in on Monday. See me after the concert so I can sign your program for extra credit.
