FLORIDA UPDATE!! As you can problably guess, we spent the day at Epcot Center on Tuesday. Another day of great weather (although I must say I was a a bit jealous to learn that it was, like, 60 degrees in Muskegon!). Favorite rides included “Soarin’” (my father’s personal favorite) and the GM Test Track. We wondered thru the countries and just spent the day exploring all the cool stuff here, eating multititudes of food and finally finishing our evening off with the amazing fireworks show at Epcot! We got up at 6am so we could be in the park by 8am for the early opening. Today (Wed), it’s on to conquer “Animal Kingdom.” P.S. I messed up about the parade we went to Monday night…it was SPECTROMAGIC. Last night was, Illuminations.

UPDATED!! My sources tell me that most choir (exception Treble Choir) have been awesome for Mr. Closz! He’s a good guy people! Treble Choir, get it together folks…sneaking out of class during music theory and not giving 110% simply is NOT the way to represent the MSHS Choir!

QUESTION/CONERN!! Gosh I’m nervous about this “Have a Heart” event! It’s difficult to know a big concert is coming up and I cannot be there to make sure it is moving along properly. I hope it is coming together okay…Are you ready to conduct Mr. Garrett?! Do we have enough acts now?! I hope so!!

Also, don’t forget about rehearsal this Thursday evening. Was an exact start time ever established?

SOUTH AFRICA FOR ADULTS IN THE SUMMER OF 2010!!

UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION BELOW (PAYMENT SCHEDULE & TOUR PROPOSAL AVAILABLE)!!

It seems that during every student tour, the adult staff ponder the idea of traveling without the responsibility of chaperoning the students and doing all the work involved with performing. Just a relaxing time among friends!!

We are now making this dream a reality with a trip to South Africa from June 16-28, 2010. We will be visiting cities such as Johannesburg (and the Kruger National Park-Safari style!), Port Elizabeth on South Africa’s South-Eastern Coast (with a day spent at the Addo Elephant National Park, home to over 200 Elephants!), ride ostriches, travel the Garden Route to Oudtshoorn, visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Caves and visit Capetown (with a penguin refuge!).

Anyone 18 years or older and that has graduated by June of 2010 is invited. This includes past Shores Choir Trip staff, students and friends of the choir!

DEADLINE SET!! WE ARE REQUESTING THAT PARTICIPANTS START MAKING PAYMENTS BY APRIL 1ST (at the latest) IN REGARD TO THIS TRIP (A $100 deposit is due in January, with $225 payments due in both February and March. NEW!! The Lawton’s are having a truly wonderful time in Disney thus far! The weather have been in the mid 70’s and we have been going non-stop from morning ’til dark in Magic Kingdom. Today we move on to Epcot. Highlights this far have been: Taking little Jessie on Space Mountain (ended up being her favorite ride of the day!),Getting a free ride all the way down mainstreet in an old fashioned car and getting escorted right up to the front to watch the show in front of the castle, Meeting Mickey and Minnie with the girls, The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and, of course, the Illuminations Parade was unforgettable. Watching my little girls see each Disney Character ride by in magically lit up floats that are unbelieveable. They were SOOOO excited!

UPDATED!! Were you very good to Mr. Closz on Monday and did you treat him with the highest respect?

Mickey Mouse and I both hope so! If not, Captain Hook (whom, incidently today, had a stare down with me, which ended in him threatening me with his hook ater we all yelled, “WE LOVE PETER PAN!!” during the Illuminations parade on Monday evening) will have the last word. Trust me, he’s much nastier than I!

FREE Mona Shores Choir Concert this Saturday!! Come and hear the Mona Shores Singers with the Alma College Choir together in concert at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven. We are special guests on their concert and will be singing some songs together as well. IT”S FREE!!! Concert starts at 7pm. Follow the link below for directions to the church. The Mona Shores Middle School musical, “The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree” will be presented tonight (Friday) and Saturday (Feb. 6 and 7) at 7:30pm in the middle school auditorium. SOUTH AFRICA FOR ADULTS IN THE SUMMER OF 2010!!

UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION BELOW (PAYMENT SCHEDULE & TOUR PROPOSAL AVAILABLE)!!

It seems that during every student tour, the adult staff ponder the idea of traveling without the responsibility of chaperoning the students and doing all the work involved with performing. Just a relaxing time among friends!!

We are now making this dream a reality with a trip to South Africa from June 16-28, 2010. We will be visiting cities such as Johannesburg (and the Kruger National Park-Safari style!), Port Elizabeth on South Africa’s South-Eastern Coast (with a day spent at the Addo Elephant National Park, home to over 200 Elephants!), ride ostriches, travel the Garden Route to Oudtshoorn, visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Caves and visit Capetown (with a penguin refuge!).

Anyone 18 years or older and that has graduated by June of 2010 is invited. This includes past Shores Choir Trip staff, students and friends of the choir!

DEADLINE SET!! WE ARE REQUESTING THAT PARTICIPANTS START MAKING PAYMENTS BY APRIL 1ST (at the latest) IN REGARD TO THIS TRIP (A $100 deposit is due in January, with $225 payments due in both February and March. UPDATED!! Our annual CHEESECAKE FUNDRAISER Ended this past FRIDAY with an extra day for turn in until this past Monday. The cakes will be delivered tomorrow (Thursday, February 5th).

Cakes can be frozen for up to 6 months and are all pre-sliced. They can be thawed and refrozen as well. The cakes have a refrigeration shelf life of 5 days.

Cost is $6 and tickets are available at the door. I will be attending on Thursday and Friday evenings so show up and get your programs signed for extra credit!

Allegros: Don’t forget we are attending the final dress rehearsal tonight! The middle school students really look forward to having us an their audience. It means alot to them!
