Please remember to keep on reading! Students should be reading at least 40 WPM now to be benchmark for the end of first grade. Keep signing the reading logs and encouraging your child to read every night. Our students are doing amazing!
It was meant to say on January 14th that is 1st Grade “Shirt” Day! Sorry for the typo.
Also, the spelling words will be going home on Monday.
Have a snowy weekend!
We had a wonderful breakfast! Thanks to all the moms, dads and grandmas that helped prepare the food and serve us. The kids were wonderful and enjoyed this yummy morning. A special thank you to all the parents that spoiled our class with gift cards, games and bean bags. I was very excited to purchase some math games during break. We will begin math workshop on Monday and those supplies will come in handy! You are all so generous!
Thanks to all the parents and family members that were able to enjoy the Thanksgiving Feast with us. It was a wonderful day and the children worked very hard and were excited to see everyone support them!
Under blogroll there is a new link. All you have to do is type in a book your child is reading to see what level they are at. Look for the Guided Reading Level, those are the alphabetic leveling system that we use in class. Not all books are on the site but many are.
Enjoy and happy reading!
We had such a great party! Thanks to the parents who donated items, and for all that attended. It was a great day for all.
Just a reminder that our first field trip to Texas Roadhouse is this Tuesday. If you would like to join us on this fun field trip please meet us at Texas Roadhouse on Harvey Street at 10:45. Don’t forget to have your child wear their red shirt.
Thanks to all of those that attended the Daily 5 parent meeting. We love showing off how hard we have been working in first grade. Your children are amazing and they have been doing so well with their reading. If you did not attend, the bookmarks were sent home on Friday with your child.
