Sailor Classic, started in 1991, will host its 23rd event in 2013!
Sailor Classic, with the help of many sponsors, players, and volunteers has raised over ¼ million dollars for Mona Shores Sailor Athletics over the years. These funds are and will continue to be used for bettering the student-athletes’ experience at Mona Shores. Also, for the last thirteen years, two graduating seniors are awarded scholarships as part of our mission (see “Scholarship Winners” tab).
In 2000, a foundation account was created at the Community Foundation and funded yearly with proceeds from the tournament. The account has grown to over $105,000 and continues to grow with $5,000 contributed each year. Two $1,500 student Sailor Classic scholarships are funded from this account each year.
The 2012 tournament held last July generated over $18,000 with 340 golfers participating.
We believe this 23rd year will be a huge success and fill up very quickly so be prepared to have your team and monies ready for this coming year. Look forward to seeing you on July 19, 2013 for our 23rd!
