 Tree Week

   You must be in full uniform every night except for Monday’s rehearsal.

Monday, December 1st 7:30 at the Frauenthal (please arrive by 7:15 in seats by 7:25 for tuning.)

Tuesday, Dec. 2nd All Students, Rehearsal at the Frauenthal from 6pm-10pm (In uniform, pictures will be taken) please arrive  by 5:45 in seats for tuning by 5:55

Wednesday, Dec. 3rd All Students Dress Rehearsal/Meijer Community Night Show Checked in by 5:45 in seats for tuning.  You should be out by 9. (In uniform, this is a performance.)

Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4th&5th All  Students-Shows. Checked in by 6:45pm. We should be done around 10pm (In uniform)

Saturday, Dec. 6th, All Students Two Shows (3pm and 7:30pm) Be checked in by 2:15pm. We will feed you between shows. We should be done around 10pm. (In Uniform)

Monday, Dec. 8th  MSHS Orchestra Holiday Concert at the MSHS Auditorium.

We will have a rehearsal prior to the concert beginning at 5:30 with all orchestras & orchestra winds.  Singers will join us at 6 for the sound check and the concert begins at 7:30.  Please eat dinner prior to coming to school. Reminder to all orchestra students who are in choir: You  will play in the orchestra and you must be in your orchestra uniform. You can sing during the choir selections that are without orchestra accompaniment.

Junior violinist, Cindy Lee auditioned and has been selected to the Michigan All State Orchestra.

Cindy competed with 2300 other students for a spot in the ensemble.

This is the third year of the the All State Orchestra.  It is getting very difficult to win a spot in the group as the reputation of the event grows and the competition becomes greater.  I would like to congratulate the other three students that were selected from Mona Shores:

Middle School Band-Brandon Avila

High School Band-Becky Haines

I would like to acknowledge all the students that tried out for this honor.  They are all outstanding!!!

Next week beginning December 1st we are back on our regular schedule.  Thank you for your ability to make the adjustment in your schedule during high school exam week.  We are preparing for our first concert which will be held on December 19th at 7:30 a.m.  in the high school auditorium.  The students from all four elementary schools will perform together in concert! This is an exciting event for the students and the parents and friends. Bring your family, friends and neighbors and your cameras.  The whole presentation will be done by 8:10 and the students will take their bus back to the elementary so you can head to work.

The high school holiday concert is on Monday, December 8th beginning at 7:30 and features a 105 member orchestra joined by the Mona Shores Singers.  This is free admission and is guarenteed to put you in the holiday mood.  We hope to see you there.

Fiddle Festival 7 p.m. November 1st

All State Orchestra Auditions November 1st and 2nd at Sparta High School (participating students)

Orchestra Wind Rehearsal 7 to 8:30 p.m. November 3rd, 10th and 17th

November 14th kick off of annual poinsettia sale. Also individual account fundraiser from Century Products (Cheese and Sausage and Christmas Items) One week sale with items delivered the week before Christmas Break.

Orchestra Chicago Symphony Trip Saturday, November 22nd (participating students)

Singing Tree Rehearsal Monday November 24th 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra Winds with choirs. This is a half day with classes in the afternoon. The beginning of the second trimester.
